This morning started in Ngorongoro. Had a great breakfast and said good bye to our hotel on the rim of the caldera. We next drove to a VERY small airport in Manyara and took a flight to the Serengeti. It was only a 35 minute flight but much better than driving 4-5 hours. on VERY bumpy African roads. They call it the 'African Massage'. Yes, Meredith and I take Dramamine every day and we are doing great! The view from the plane was awesome, Meredith saw elephants and giraffes from her window.

Our plane All the duffle bags. Ready for Take Off The tiny airport!

Once we got to the Serengeti we loaded into our Safari jeeps and did a small game drive on the way to our hotel. We first saw giraffes! They are so beautiful, elegant and fun! Maybe my second favorite next to zebras.

Next, a big herd of elephants crossed in front of our jeep! Several baby elephants too!

Then we got to our hotel. It is the Four Seasons Serengeti Safari Lodge. It is right in the middle of the Serengeti. They have a water pond in front of the infinity pool and animals can come there to drink. When we arrived there we saw so many zebras, wildebeests and topi drinking from the pond. They said we were lucky, they don't usually get this many at once. It was an incredible sight!

We hung out at the hotel in the afternoon for a few hours before our 4:30pm game drive. While we were here we saw lots of activity from our balcony and then we went down to the pool. The first most exciting was an elephant who decided to visit the water pond - so cool!

Then, from our balcony Meredith was watching the baboons play and the mother baboons taking care of their babies.

We could hardly pull ourselves away from our hotel and all the animals there to go on the game drive, but we did, of course. On our game drive we saw so many animals. However, we were SO excited to see two new animals.

We saw a VERY VERY rare leopard. She was laying up in a tree. Our guide told us most times when you see leopards they are in a high tree.

We also saw two cheethas! They were laying on the ground and that is what our guide told us they normally do!

We ended the day with a beautiful African sunset.

What a magical day! Each day gets better and better! Tomorrow we have two more game drives here in the Serengeti! YAY!

Thanks for following our adventure.
